Description: THE APRENDE PROJECT'S MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO ADDRESS CHALLENGES AND PRIORITIES IN THE FIELD OF EVALUATED NUCLEAR DATA FOR NUCLEAR ENERGY AND SAFETY APPLICATIONS AS WELL AS FOR NON-ENERGY APPLICATIONS. EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF FISSION REACTIONS WILL BE CARRIED OUT, SUCH AS THE 243AM(N,F) REACTION AT THE N_TOF FACILITY AT CERN USING THE PULSED NEUTRON BEAM AND THE INNOVATIVE MICROMEGAS DETECTORS. FURTHERMORE, ELASTIC AND INELASTIC NEUTRON SCATTERING ON ACTINIDES AND REACTOR STRUCTUAL MATERIALS WILL BE PERFORMED WITH THE ELISA SETUP OF THE GELINA FACILITY AT JRC IN GEEL (BELGIUM). IN ADDITION, R&D ON DIAMOND DETECTORS WILL BE PERORMED FOR DIRECT MEASUREMENTS OF THE NEUTRON BEAM FLUENCE IN HARSH RADIATION ENVIRONMENTS, SUCH AS THE NEW EXPERIMENTAL AREA NEAR AT THE CERN N_TOF FACILITY. THE CROSS SECTION MEASUREMENTS WILL BE FOLLOWED BY THEORETICAL CALCULATIONS BY MEANS OF STATISTICAL MODEL CODES, SUCH AS EMPIRE AND TALYS, WHILE EXTENDED SIMULATIONS WILL BE PERFORMED IMPLEMENTING THE CODES MCNP, FLUKA AND GEANT.
