Description: THE PROJECT IS A ELIDEK SCHOLARSHIP. TH AIM OF THE PROJECT IS THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DISCONTINUOUS GALERKIN METHOD (DGM) FOR HYDRODYNAMIC PROBLEMS . THE DISCONTINUOUS GALERKIN METHOD (DGM) IS A COMPUTATIONAL METHOD BASED ON SEGMENTING THE SOLUTION INTO DISCRETE CELLS AND REPRESENTING IT WITH POLYNOMIALS WITHIN EACH CELL. RESEARCH ACTIVITY IN THE ANALYSIS OF THE DGM HAS BEEN INTENSE IN RECENT YEARS; HOWEVER, ITS APPLICATIONS ARE VERY LIMITED. THE AIM OF THE DISSERTATION IS TO FILL THIS RESEARCH GAP. MORE SPECIFICALLY, THE OBJECTIVE IS THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE DISCONTINUOUS GALERKIN METHOD ON MULTIDIMENSIONAL UNSTRUCTURED GRIDS AND ITS APPLICATION ON NAVAL ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS.
