Description: THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT IS TO ENHANCE THE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES OF THE LABORATORY, WHICH FOCUSES ON THE PRINTING AND MICRO-MACHINING OF MATERIALS USING LASER TECHNOLOGY. THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT ARE THREEFOLD:
1.FURTHER DEVELOPMENT AND OPTIMIZATION OF LASER PRINTING TECHNOLOGY TO ACHIEVE HIGHER RESOLUTION (MINIMUM PRINTING DIMENSION < 10 ΜM), FASTER PRINTING SPEED (> 1M/S), AND GREATER REPEATABILITY (>90%).
2.EXPANSION OF THE RANGE OF MATERIALS THAT CAN BE PRINTED WITH LASER: A VARIETY OF ORGANIC MATERIALS, INCLUDING THE SPECIAL CATEGORY OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL GRAPHENE, VARIOUS METAL NANOPARTICLE INKS (SILVER, COPPER, GOLD), AND BIOLOGICAL MATERIALS SUCH AS DNA, PROTEINS, AND CELLS.
3.APPLICATION OF THE TECHNOLOGY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW GENERATION OF OPTOELECTRONIC DEVICES, SUCH AS PHOTODETECTORS AND PHOTOTRANSISTORS, AND BIOTECHNOLOGICAL SYSTEMS, SUCH AS BIOLOGICAL SENSORS AND LAB-ON-A-CHIP DEVICES, INCORPORATING MATERIALS COMPATIBLE WITH LASER PRINTING TECHNOLOGY.
