Description: | AN ANNUAL AWARD IS ESTABLISHED IN HONOR OF GEORGIOS VEIS, EMERITUS PROFESSOR OF THE SCHOOL OF RURAL, SURVEYING AND GEOINFORMAFICS ENGINEERING, NTUA. THE PRIZE IS AWARDED TO THE SRSGE STUDENT WITH THE HIGHEST GRADE POINT AVERAGE IN THE COMPULSORY COURSES OFFERED BY THE LABORATORIES OF GEODESY, CARTOGRAPHY, PHOTOGRAMMETRY AND REMOTE SENSING, FROM THOSE STUDENTS WHO HAVE COMPILED AN EXCELLENT DIPLOMA THESIS IN THE LABORATORY OF GEODESY OR THE DIONYSUS SATELLITE CENTER. THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANNOUNCING THE AWARDEE EACH YEAR RESTS WITH A COMMITTEE, MADE UP OF: THE DEAN OF THE SCHOOL, THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TOPOGRAPHY, THE DIRECTOR OF THE LABORATORY OF GEODESY, THE DIRECTOR OF THE DIONYSOS SATELLITE CENTER AND A PROFESSOR OR RESEARCHER OF THE KNOWLEDGE AREA OF GEODESY OR, IN CASE OF LACK OF INTERESTED PARTIES, OF THE AREAS OF CARTOGRAPHY, PHOTOGRAMMETRY OR REMOTE SENSING, OF GREEK ORIGIN WORKING ABROAD, AND SELECTED BY DECISION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF SRSGE, WITH A FOUR-YEAR TERM. |
