Description: THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ALFION-INFRA IS THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE PORT OF IGOUMENITSA, A CORE TEN-T NETWORK SITUATED IN NORTH-WEST GREECE, INTO A GREENER, TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED PILLAR OF THE MARITIME INDUSTRY. THE PROJECT IS MIXED AIMING TO PROVIDE WORKS FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OF SHORE-SIDE ELECTRICITY (SSE) FOR THREE (3) POSITIONS SERVING VESSELS AND TECHNICAL STUDIES AND TENDER DOCUMENTS FOR ADDITIONAL SSE POSITIONS AND FOR RES ELECTRICITY GENERATION EXPECTED TO COVER SSE NEEDS. ALFION-INFRA IS A CONTINUATION OF THE ALFION CEF PROJECT (REF: 2019-EL-TM-0227-S) IN WHICH ALL TECHNICAL STUDIES, ENGINEERING DESIGNS, TENDER DOCUMENTS, ENVIRONMENTAL AND FINANCIAL STUDIES AND THE COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS WERE CONDUCTED.OVERALL, ALFION-INFRA IS A CRITICAL STEP TO FOR THE PORT OF IGOUMENITSA TO ACHIEVE A MARITIME EMISSIONS-FREE OPERATION, UP-TAKING THE LEVEL OF PORT PERFORMANCE THROUGH THE UPGRADING AND OPTIMISATION OF THE PORT’S ENERGY NETWORK AND THE QUALITY OF SERVICES, SECURING AT THE SAME TIME THE ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL VIABILITY OF THE PORT. MORE SPECIFICALY THE COVERED SECTORS ARE: 1) THE NEED FOR A SIGNIFICANT UPGRADE OF THE PORT INFRASTRUCTURE 2) DEPLOYING RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES INSIDE AND IN THE BROADER AREA OF THE PORT 3) PROVIDING GREEN ELECTRIC ENERGY TO SHIPS AT BERTH. NTUA WILL HAVE AN ADVISORY ROLE IN THE PROJECT AND WILL BE INVOLVED IN FOLLOWING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT ACCORDING TO THE COST-BENEFIT AND ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES THAT HAVE BEEN PREPARED, THE COMMUNICATION AND PUBLICITY, AS WELL AS THE FINAL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT BASED ON THE DETAILED STUDIES, PRECOMMISSIONING OF THE SUBSYSTEMS OF EACH SSE S/S , THE FEED STUDY OF OF THE SSE SYSTEM FOR CRUISE SHIPS, AND THE STUDY OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC PARK INSTALLATION STUDY (SERVING ALL SSE SYSTEMS) IN APPROPRIATELY SELECTED AREAS AND SURFACES WITHIN THE PORT FACILITIES.
