Description: THE W2W PROJECT FOCUSES ON VALORIZING WOOD FROM CONSTRUCTION AND FURNITURE WASTE THROUGH ADVANCED SORTING TECH, UPCYCLING PROCESSES, AND DIGITAL TOOLS FOR CIRCULAR MATERIAL FLOWS. IT AIMS TO CREATE HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS COMPARABLE TO PRIMARY RESOURCES WHILE REDUCING WASTE IN LANDFILLS AND INCINERATION FACILITIES. THE PROJECT'S HOLISTIC APPROACH INCLUDES A SUPPORTIVE FRAMEWORK IN POLICY, MARKETS, AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, PROMOTING A CIRCULAR ECONOMY. IT DEMONSTRATES EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE VALUE CHAINS ACROSS THREE USE CASES: PRODUCING WOOD WITHOUT POLLUTANTS, BIOCOMPOSITE BUILDING MATERIALS, BIOPOLYMERS, POLYOLS, CHEMICAL DETERGENTS, AND NUTRIENT RECOVERY. OVERALL, W2W AIMS TO DECREASE RELIANCE ON VIRGIN MATERIALS, OPTIMIZE WASTE REPURPOSING, AND FOSTER CLOSED-LOOP SYSTEMS, EXTENDING THE LIFESPAN OF MATERIALS IN A CIRCULAR ECONOMY MODEL.
