Description: THE SUBJECT OF THIS WORK IS THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTEGRATED PROCESSING SCHEME FOR THE TREATMENT OF SMALL SIZE LITHIUM ION BATTERIES (LIBS) HAVING VARIOUS COMPOSITIONS AIMING AT RECYCLING OF THEIR MAIN CONSTITUENTS. THE METHOD TO BE INVESTIGATED FOCUSES ON LITHIUM ION BATTERIES OF ALL TYPES, HOWEVER, EMPHASIS WILL BE GIVEN ON LCO, NMC, NCA AND LMO BATTERIES CONTAINING NI, CO, AL, CU, AND MN. AN INTEGRATED BATTERY PROCESSING FLOWCHART WILL BE PROPOSED, COVERING ALL THE STEPS FROM THEIR INITIAL PREPROCESSING STAGE TO THE FINAL HYDROMETALLURGICAL PROCESSING TO RECOVER ELEMENTS NEEDED FOR NEW LITHIUM BATTERIES PRODUCTION. THE FINAL OBJECTIVE IS TO ACHIEVE AT LEAST 90% ELEMENTS RECOVERY RATE
