Description: IN THE PROPOSED RESEARCH PROJECT, A MODIFICATION AND EXTENSION OF A DIESEL ENGINE SIMULATION MODEL WILL BE MADE FOR APPLICATION TO 2-STROKE
MARINE DIESEL ENGINES OF SEAGOING VESSELS. THE MODEL WILL BE APPLIED TO VARIOUS PROPULSION DIESEL ENGINE TECHNOLOGIES BOTH CONVENTIONAL AND MODERN ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED ONES EQUIPPED WITH ANTI-POLLUTION SYSTEMS (EGR, SCR ETC). THE PRESENT RESEARCH PROJECT ALSO AIMS TO EXAMINE
AND ANALYZE THESE PROBLEMS BASED ON MEASUREMENTS ACQUIRED FROM ENGINES ALREADY IN USE ON OCEAN-GOING SHIPS. THE MEASUREMENTS WILL BE PROCESSED WITH A SPECIAL SOFTWARE AND USED TO CALIBRATE AND CERTIFY THE ACCURACY OF THE COMPUTATIONAL MODEL.
