Description: THIS PROJECT DEALS WITH THE DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF AERODYNAMIC AND AEROACOUCTIC OPTIMIZATION METHODS, WITH A FOCUS ON THE ADJOINT METHOD FOR COMPUTING ACCURATE SENSITIVITY DERIVATIVES OF THE OBJECTIVE FUNCTION WITH RESPECT TO THE DESIGN VARIABLES. THE APPLICATIONS FOCUS ON WIND TURBINE BLADES, CARS, ETC. APART FROM OPTIMIZATION IN A SPECIFIC OPERATING POINT, THE PROJECT ALSO DEALS WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF UNCERTAINTY QUANTIFICATION METHODS AND ROBUST DESIGN. THIS INCLUDES DISSEMINATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE RESEARCH PROJECT.
