Description: THE PROJECT FOCUSES ON IMPLEMENTING AXIS 3 OF THE GREEK NATIONAL SATELLITE SPACE PROJECT, FUNDED BY THE GREEK COMPONENT OF THE EU RECOVERY AND RESILIENCE FACILITY, WITH A STRONG EMPHASIS ON WILDFIRE MANAGEMENT. THIS AXIS IS DEDICATED TO DELIVERING A GEOSPATIAL THEMATIC SERVICE FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY, LEVERAGING SATELLITE DATA AND THIRD-PARTY SOURCES TO ENHANCE GREECE'S CAPABILITIES IN FLOOD RISK ASSESSMENT, WILDFIRE SURVEILLANCE, AND TARGET IDENTIFICATION. THE CORE OF THE PROJECT INVOLVES UTILIZING HIGH-RESOLUTION OPTICAL, SAR, AND THERMAL IMAGERY TO PROVIDE CRITICAL WILDFIRE MANAGEMENT TOOLS, INCLUDING DETAILED RISK ASSESSMENTS, REAL-TIME MONITORING OF ACTIVE FIRES, AND POST-EVENT ANALYSIS OF BURN SEVERITY AND RECOVERY. THE SERVICE WILL ALSO SUPPORT FLOOD RISK PREDICTION AND OBJECT IDENTIFICATION, WITH A COMMITMENT TO HIGH DATA ACCURACY AND TIMELY DELIVERY ACROSS GREECE, ENSURING COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT FOR BOTH EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND LONG-TERM DISASTER MANAGEMENT.
