Description: 1 .GO CONCENTRATE DISSOLUTION STUDY: THE DISSOLUTION OF THE GALLIUM CONCENTRATE IN SODIUM HYDROXIDE SOLUTION WILL BE STUDIED TO DETERMINE THE MAXIMUM GALLIUM CONCENTRATION IN THE ELECTROLYTE WHILE MAINTAINING CRUCIAL IMPURITIES SUCH AS V AND FE BELOW LIMITS THAT WOULD PROHIBIT THE ELECTROLYSIS PROCESS.
2,LAB CELL SETUP: A LABORATORY ELECTROLYSIS CELL WILL BE SETUP, MODIFYING EXISTING CELL COMPONENTS. THE CELL WILL BE MADE FROM STAINLESS STEEL TO ALLOW FOR OPERATION AT TEMPERATURES ABOVE 40-80 C AND AVOID IMPURITIES FROM BOROSILICATE GLASSWARE DISSOLUTION.
3.PROCESS SETUP AND CONDITIONS OPTIMIZATIONS: NTUA WILL FIX THE CELL DESIGN (PARALLEL ELECTRODES), ELECTRODE MATERIALS (CU CATHODE/ NI ANODE), TEMPERATURE (60 C) AND AGITATION (NO AGITATION) AND STUDY AND OPTIMIZE CURRENT DENSITY, TIME OF DEPOSITION AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION WITH THE GIVEN OPTIMUM GA ELECTROLYTE PRODUCED IN 1.
