Description: | THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT IS THE DESIGN AND EVALUATION OF AN ECONOMICALLY VIABLE TECHNOLOGICAL PROPOSAL FOR PRODUCTION OF BIOFUELS AND HIGH ADDED VALUE CHEMICALS USING MICROALGAE AND INDUSTRIAL CARBON DIOXIDE STREAMS WITHIN THE LOGIC OF A BIOREFINERY. THEREFORE, THE INDIVIDUAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT ARE FORMED BASED ON THE SCIENTIFIC DOCUMENTED OPINION, THAT THE SOLUTION TO THE WELL-KNOWN ECONOMIC PROBLEMS OF A MICROALGAE BIOREFINERY SHOULD ARISE THROUGH THE INTEGRATION AND SIMULTANEOUS OPTIMIZATION OF ALL THE PROCESSES INVOLVED IN IT, NAMELY: (I ) OPTIMIZATION OF MICROBIAL STRAINS ON A LABORATORY SCALE, (II) DESIGN OF THE UNIT WITH LOW COST AND HIGH PRODUCTIVITY CHARACTERISTICS, (III) DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF "SMART" AND LOW COST FRACTIONATION METHODS. |
