Description: | THE AIM OF THE PROJECT, WHICH IS A CONTINUATION OF THE CURRENT PROJECT NO.95029000, IS THE RECOVER/ OF CRITICAL METALS FROM WATE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT. DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF RECYCLING OF LICO BATTERIES, THE PROJECT FOCUSES IN THE RECOVERY OF COBALT FROM THESE BATTERIES, WHICH ARE EMBEDDED IN SINLE-USE ITEMS. IN THE FRAMEWORK OF A CURRENT MASTER THESIS IT RESULTED FROM PRELIMINARY MEASUREMENTS, THAT THE CONCENTRATION OF COBALT, WHICH IS A CRITICAL ELEMENT ACCORDING TO EU. DUE TO ITS INCREASING DEMAND IN ENERGY SECTOR, HIGH SUPPLY RISK AND HIGH PRICE, IS HIGH IN THE ITEMS UNDER INVESTIGATION. AFTER CHARACTERIZATION OF THE ELECTRONIC WASTE, APPROPRIATE HYDROMETALLURGICAL AND BIOMETALLURGICAL LEACHING TECHNIQUES OF THE SAMPLES WILL APPLY TARGETING TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE RECOVERY OF COBALT. |
